Beaufort Park is a mixed-use development on the former RAF East Camp. The development is set within 25 acres of the historically important RAF Hendon aerodrome site. The new development has been designed not just as a place to live but as a community for residents to enjoy exclusive facilities withinits landscaped gardens.
The development necessitated that the services be split between residential and landlord services. This would also include multi-level below ground car parks and external irrigation systems for the landscaped gardens.
BSD provided mechanical design services that consisted of domestic water services, above ground drainage systems, Part F system 3 extract ventilation, to all dwellings, upper levels and also full apartment air conditioning.
This also included a landlord’s main cold-water distribution design that consists of large packaged booster sets and break tank. This is sized to provide adequate levels of water distribution for a multi-residential scheme. At the same time, this also ensures compliance with the latest water hygiene regulations.
The electrical design strategy included a primary LV distribution network, through numerous blocks, from the LV switch rooms.
The new development also specified a range of car park charging requirements, which included ensuring robust charging points were available along with more mainstream solutions. We included 26 No. active electric vehicle chargers and 24 No. passive (future provision only).
